LAMANAI GUIDE BOOK

Discover a great Maya ceremonial centre, including Maya art, ceramic vessels, animal figurines and architectural reconstructions of Maya temples.

The LAMANAI GUIDE BOOK explores the archaeology site of Lamanai located in the Orange Walk District of Belize, in an area of protected tropical rainforest teeming with Central American wildlife.

This book has been written in collaboration with Dr. David Pendergast (Director of excavations from 1974-87), Dr. Elizabeth Graham and Dr. Scott Simmons (current Directors of the project), and Jaime Awe from the Institute of Archaeology, Belize; it forms a good foundation for further study. 

Architectural reconstructions by Claude Belanger, the project architect from 1974 to 2009, and art work - water colours, oil paintings and pastels - by Louise Belanger, the archaeological illustrator at Lamanai from 1979 to present day.
